Privacy Policy

Knowly ("Knowly", "we", "us") is currently operating as a closed, invite-only beta at knowly.co.in. This policy explains what information we collect through the platform, why we collect it, and how it is handled. It applies to the Knowly website and account features, not to any tutoring session or arrangement you make directly with another user off the platform.

We collect information you provide directly, and some information generated by using the service:

• Account information — name, email address, and role (student or creator/tutor), managed through our authentication provider.
• Profile information — details you choose to add, such as learning goals, budget, or interests (students), and bio, skills, education, certifications, achievements, or availability (creators/tutors).
• Activity on the platform — bookings, contact unlocks, reviews you write or receive, and Knowly Coin/wallet transactions.
• Payment-related records— for purchases made through Knowly (Premium subscriptions, Knowly Coins), we store the purchase amount, status, timestamp, and identifiers assigned by our payment processor, Razorpay. We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or banking password — those are entered directly into Razorpay's payment interface and never pass through Knowly's servers.
• Basic technical/operational data — standard request and error logs used to operate and secure the service.

• To operate the platform: creating accounts, showing profiles, matching students and creators/tutors, and enabling bookings and contact unlocks.
• To process payments for Premium subscriptions and Knowly Coin purchases through Razorpay.
• To maintain account security and help prevent fraud or abuse.
• To communicate with you about your account, a transaction, or a change to these policies.
• To understand how the beta is used so we can fix problems and improve the product.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. Information is shared only where necessary to run the service:

• Razorpay — our payment processor, which receives what is necessary to process a Premium or coin purchase.
• Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure provider.
• Vercel — our hosting provider.
• Other users— information you choose to make visible, such as a creator's public profile, or the details a student or creator sees about each other once a booking or contact unlock connects them.

We may also disclose information where required to comply with the law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including database-level access rules that restrict each account to its own data, and verification of payment-provider webhook signatures before any payment is recorded as successful. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot promise that information will never be accessed, disclosed, or lost as a result of a breach of any of these safeguards.

We keep account and activity information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, accounting, or legal reasons — for example, payment records may be retained even after a purchase for these purposes.

You can update most profile information directly from your account. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data, contact us at techwithari126@gmail.com. We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can; some records may need to be retained even after a deletion request for legitimate accounting or legal reasons.

Knowly is not directed at young children, and account holders are expected to meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service.

As Knowly is in active beta, this policy may be updated as the product changes. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
